Why is Summer the Best Season to Visit New Zealand?

The climate in New Zealand is mild all year, but the summer months of December through February are warm and sunny. It has an average temperature of 21 degrees Celsius to 24 degrees Celsius, but this is due to the lower humidity. There is also less chance of rain. The best way to enjoy New Zealand’s summer weather is to visit the coast and make the most of this beautiful season.

If you enjoy hiking, January is the best time to go because many popular trails are closed in the winter. Beautiful trains can also be found in the Southern Alps, in both Fiordland and Queenstown. If you visit Wanaka in January, you should attend the Rhythm and Alps festival.

Summer Events 

The month of January is an excellent time to visit Auckland. The traditional Ports of Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta commemorates the city’s anniversary. This is the day Auckland will be known as the “city of sails.” There are numerous boat races, such as tugboat races, dragon boat races, and yacht races. The ASB Seafood Festival, as well as an international busker festival, add to the fun on the waterfront.
